If you’re looking for a delicious, traditional treat this holiday season, then look no further than Holland Farms Bakery & Deli. On top of our numerous other holiday baked goods, we offer Dutch almond sticks and Dutch almond letters – a family favorite from our table to yours.

While we’re keeping our recipe a secret, we can tell you that our Dutch treats feature a puffy, flaky pastry crust wrapped around a sweet almond paste filling. Our Dutch letters are the equivalent of three of our Dutch sticks, and can be shaped into any letter you wish.

And, people keep coming back for our Dutch treats year after year – we have at least 10 customers from all around the country who call us each year to get their orders in early. And what’s more, we ship! Yes, Dutch sticks and Dutch letters are perfectly shippable, and make for a delectable delivery to the friends and family on your list who have everything. Just be sure to get your orders in by December 16, so that we can ship your Dutch treats in time for Christmas!

We’ve added some great new menu items to our already extensive line of hot lunches, including:

At Holland Farms Bakery & Deli, one of our favorite bakery items is a Utica tradition – half moons. Our delicious halfmoon cookies are made fresh from scratch daily, and as you know we have a wide variety – traditional, chocolate frosting on a chocolate bottom, vanilla frosting on a vanilla bottom, raspberry coconut, carrot – you name it, we’ve got it. But in September, right along with the changing of the leaves and the Harvest moon up in the sky, come our very special half moon cookie edition – Harvest Moons.

Our Harvest Moons are dressed in their autumn best, donning colors of red, orange, yellow and green – perfect for the fall season. At Holland Farms Bakery & Deli, you trust us to provide you with delicious baked goods and fresh, tasty deli items every day. You know us for our jelly buns, half moons, super salads and amazing cakes… but did you know we could also provide you with the delectable taste of a down-home barbeque?

We have amazingly good barbeque meats available daily. You can choose from high-quality pork, beef, ham or turkey, which we’ve shaved and smothered in tangy barbeque sauce. And, you can choose either a barbeque sandwich served on one of our homemade hard rolls, or you can buy it by the pound to take home for dinner. Planning a party? But a good southern barbeque just isn’t complete without the baked beans, and we have some of the best in town right here at Holland Farms. Ramon uses an old family recipe that is both sweet and savory, and is simply delicious. You can purchase our baked beans at the deli in one- or two-pound containers, or you can special order as many pounds as you like.

You might think we’re exaggerating when we tell you Holland Farms Deli & Bakery sold a ton of potato salad over the Fourth of July weekend… but actually, we’re being modest. In 2011, we sold 2500 pounds – that’s a ton and a quarter! We thought it might be fun to compare that amount of potato salad to other things that have a similar weight, and here’s what we found:

• The American bison
• The average walrus
• A Mini Cooper
• About seven average-sized Sumo wrestlers
• A Cessna 172 aircraft

So as you can see, 2500 pounds of potato salad is a LOT! But of course, we couldn’t have done it without you – many thanks for making our potato salad “famous” – we appreciate it!

At Holland Farms Bakery & Deli, all of our baked goods are baked fresh every day. So while it might be easier for us to pop a commercially prepared frozen pie in our oven, that will never happen at Holland Farms. That’s because we pride ourselves in providing you baked goods like you remember your grandma making – and our pies are no exception.

We offer a wide variety of both fruit and cream pies, and we always use real fruit filling and real whipped cream – no skimping. So you’ll be able to serve your family and guests a pie that tastes just like homemade.
